Peter Ohnemus
CEO and President
Peter Ohnemus is a high-tech entrepreneur who co-founded ASSET4, the world’s leading provider of extra-financial information, in 2003. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Ohnemus has been active as a venture capitalist through The e-Firm. Prior to this, he was the co-founder of The Fantastic Corporation, which as CEO he took from foundation to IPO on the Frankfurt Neuer Markt with Goldman Sachs/Deutsche Bank in less than four years. Mr. Ohnemus previously held executive positions with Sybase, Logic Works and COS, all of which went public during his tenure. He played a leading role in the success of all these companies and won the accolade of "Entrepreneur of the Year 1999" in Switzerland. He is a frequent commentator in the trade and business press as well as on television. Mr. Ohnemus has co-authored the book Marketing Strategies for the New Economy, published by J. Wiley & Sons and serves on the boards of Rothschild Bank, SQL AG and Visonys.
Joachim Asbrede
Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining ASSET4, Joachim Asbrede worked for nine years at Oracle, as Vice President and Managing Director for Switzerland, Austria and Croatia. During this time he led a dramatic turnaround of Oracles business operations, while increasing margins and improving performance. Before coming to Oracle, Mr. Asbrede was the Managing Director for Germany for Baan Business Systems where he managed start-up operations, as well as coordinating several acquisitions and divestures in Europe.
He started his career with Honeywell Bull in 1979. There he gained a wide-range of experience in his roles as Consulting Manager, Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and eventually as Business Unit Manager on a European level, responsible for the entire software and service business. He holds a Diploma in Economics and is an alumni of London Business School.
Henrik Steffensen
Vice President Marketing and Business Development
Henrik Steffensen has many years of marketing and business development experience in the high-tech and waste management sectors. Prior to founding ASSET4 with Peter Ohnemus, Mr. Steffensen was a partner at The e-Firm, the private equity boutique of Mr. Ohnemus, where he advised a number of companies on business development and capital increases. He has also served as Vice President Marketing with wireless start-up Remote-i. Before that, Mr. Steffensen was responsible for marketing and large-scale partnerships for Hewlett-Packard EMEA, where he successfully established new business opportunities on a pan-European basis. Mr. Steffensen also helped to establish Sybase and Logic Works in Europe, which both went public on the Nasdaq. He has also worked for environmental protection company Geodur and holds a BA in Economics from the Copenhagen Business School.
Erik Troelsen
Vice President Technology
Erik Troelsen brings more than eleven years of operational expertise in software development, technology, and management to ASSET4. He was one of the pioneers behind Tenfore, a system providing financial information covering the global equities, futures, commodities and foreign exchange markets to financial institutions and private investors. Daily, the system processes and broadcasts data on over 1,000,000 financial issues and 15,000 commercial news stories.
In 1996, Mr. Troelsen became Vice President System Engineering at The Fantastic Corporation to head the development of their broadband multimedia distribution platform. He transformed the vision into reality by defining the software architecture for the platform and delivering the first products.
Mr. Troelsen co-authored the patent "Method and System for Broad-cast Transmission of Media Objects" (US 6,477,707). He holds a Masters of Science in Electric Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and a MBA from Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Ted Yarnell
Vice President and General Manager, Americas
Ted Yarnell brings to ASSET4 an enormous reservoir of experience that he has developed over the years in top management positions for a wide range of high-technology firms. At the core of Mr. Yarnell’s thirty-year career is the recognition that only by making one’s customers successful in their own businesses can a sales organization be successful. His approach, of course, is no different at ASSET4, where Mr. Yarnell manages the ASSET4 business in the Americas from a New York area office.
Most recently, Mr. Yarnell provided consulting services to early stage technology companies. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Financial Technology International (FTI), where he was responsible for offering the company’s solutions to the securities industry. Prior to this Mr. Yarnell was President and CEO of two high-technology companies: Magna Software Corporation and Alarity Corporation. In these leadership positions, Mr. Yarnell acquired an understanding of both the financial and extra-financial aspects of today’s business environment.
Mr. Yarnell is not a newcomer to the financial community. During the late ‘80’s and early 90’s he worked at Sybase for nine years where he and his team were focused on brokerage and banking customers. In this role he developed a financial services market leadership position for Sybase and created strong relationships throughout the industry.
Mr. Yarnell is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology, with a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering.
Simon Rowell
Managing Director, UK
Simon Rowell has been in the information industry for over 12 years. His most recent role before joining ASSET4 was with Thomson Financial where he was Commercial Director for their capital markets information products in Europe, his other main role during his time there was as Sales Director for their Corporate Group business in the United Kingdom. Previously to that Mr. Rowell was with Reuters Plc where he held numerous sales and marketing positions both in Europe and Asia, lastly as a Business Development Director for their equity information and transaction products. Mr. Rowell has an MBA from Imperial College, University of London, and a BA (Hons) in Economics.
Bernard Koenig
Managing Director, Mauritius
Bernard Koenig started his career as an agronomist specialising in the cultivation of sugar-cane and maize crops in both Mauritius and South Africa. Early in his career he branched out into information technology where he remained for 38 years dealing mostly with software development, business solutions implementations, technology and management. Before joining ASSET4 in January 2007, he was the Managing Director of New Edge Solutions, a technology services company fully owned by the Food & Allied Group, the 7th largest conglomerate in Mauritius. Mr. Koenig was responsible for all technology aspects of the group especially in the domain of ERP and business intelligence systems. Prior to that Mr. Koenig had his own business in South Africa where he developed, sold and maintained a specialised financial and time-recording system for legal firms.
Mr. Koenig studied business management in Johannesburg back in 1982 and during his long IT career he has become more and more interested and involved with business and people management. He has a passion for starting and developing young companies with young people recognising that the latter need to be properly led, guided and managed in order to become the company’s most important assets.
